Sound healing has been used for centuries to restore, heal and transform the body, mind and spirit. It has been used by many cultures all over the world who use it as part of spiritual practice, rituals, ceremonies and healing. The ancient wisdom and magic of sound healing is now being backed up by science and research.
Sound healing uses the principles of resonance and entrainment, using instruments to firstly match the client's state, and then slowly entrain' the body, mind, soul and spirit back to a state of optimum health. The sound frequencies of the instruments when played induce the alpha and theta brainwave states associated with deep meditation, it is in this state where deep healing and relaxation can take place.
Our bodies are made up of up to 80% water. Water is the perfect carrier for sound and vibrations. Even our skin has receptors in which they are able to pick up sound. This is why sound healing can have such profound affects on body, even down to a cellular level.
Science and conventional medicine already utilise sound, such as the use of ultrasound in diagnostic technology; lithotripsy (infrasonic sound) to break up kidney and gall stones; and recently in the treatment for tinnitus (TRT). Music and sound are used to treat patients with dementia, alzheimers, autism, stroke and premature babies.
